EcoFriendly Concrete is a Women-Owned Small Business, specializing in research, development, formulation, and production of low carbon concrete and mortar.
Our method for lowering carbon in concrete simultaneously addresses other pressing climate-related issues.
“If concrete were a country, it would be the third largest emitter of greenhouse gasses on Earth, behind only China and the United States.” (phys.org)
Concrete is the most widely used building material, with over 500 million tons produced in the United States each year. (gsa.gov)
Glass that is too small to be sorted by color in material recovery facilities, cannot be recycled back into glass products.
Over 7.6 million tons of waste glass end up in landfills annually. (epa.gov)
Recycled waste glass is cleaned, then
processed into a foam glass aggregate (FGA) and a recycled glass pozzolan.
The FGA is then graded into both coarse aggregate and sand.
The graded FGA and FGA sand can replace 100% of the coarse aggregate and sand used in concrete.
The recycled glass pozzolan can replace up to 40% of the cement.
► Substitutes aggregates mined from quarries with aggregate made from 100% recycled waste glass.
► Substitutes sand dredged from shorelines with sand made from 100% recycled waste glass.
► Substitutes a portion of the cement with pozzolan made from 100% recycled waste glass.
Produces structural concrete at 5000+psi.
